Redefining the Chocolate Experience with Global Flavors and Indigenous Stories

At Raven Rising, we blend the world of fine chocolates with the rich traditions of Indigenous cultures. Global landscapes, nature, and cultural narratives inspire our handcrafted bonbons, bars, and confections.  We offer a unique sensory journey.

Committed to traceable, sustainable, and fair trade, we collaborate directly with Indigenous businesses and individuals, wherever possible, to create a positive impact globally.  We also proudly source locally and from Canadian businesses.  Join us in savoring the richness of diversity, one exquisite chocolate at a time.

Raven Rising proudly funds a scholarship for an Indigenous student in the Baking and Pastry Arts program at George Brown College, as well to honour family members, friends, and everyone affected, a portion of our proceeds are donated to various societies that support 60's Scoop, MMIWg2s, and Residential School organizations throughout the year.

A proud Nakota Sioux/Saulteaux Ojibwe kwe from White Bear First Nation in Saskatchewan, Chef Maki is a Certified Red Seal Journeyman Pastry Chef and Baker.

A product of the 60's Scoop, she was adopted into a wonderful Finnish family in Ontario.  She jokingly refers to herself as Finndigenous. She has worked as an Executive Pastry Chef in some of the best restaurants, resorts, hotels, and bakeries throughout Canada. Chef Maki had a vision for her future.  She wanted to have full creative control and explore her Indigenous identity. Opening Raven Rising was a natural progression in her career.  Her wish is to learn but also to share knowledge and understanding of Indigenous ingredients and the First Peoples on a Global scale. Creating unique flavour profiles and products, Raven Rising represents a story, a journey into her own lost background, and celebrates her findings along the way.
